About Melissa Shelby

The appeal of Northern Virginia speaks for itself. In the more than thirty years since I arrived from Pennsylvania, my career, my family and my networks have grown and evolved. My affinity for Virginia and the DC metropolitan area has flourished respectively, and I've considered it a special place to raise my three sons. Both personally and professionally I remain committed to representing my town and my industry with unwavering integrity.

 

I first served on Capitol Hill as a U.S. Senate staffer, and then in Marketing at a large telecommunications company. Before becoming a Real Estate Agent, I designed and built the home in which I still reside with the youngest of my three fantastic sons. (The older two are still in and out often!) As my children have grown and my business has followed, I've purposed to build and strengthen all of my relationships and increase my expertise in strategic marketing, equity-building design and renovations, negotiation, real estate investing and expectations management. Being a mother requires mastering that last one!

 

I believe I have established the trust of my clients by demonstrating my total devotion to their best interests. My commitment to providing the highest level of customer service-the kind I'd expect for myself-is what separates me from the rest of the pack. I personally manage every aspect of every transaction because ultimately, the buck stops with me! I feel infinitely blessed in all areas of my life, and based on the number of sales I've completed and my clients' feedback as well as their loyalty, I have achieved success in real estate over the last ten years. For me, though, what's most rewarding is this: Year after year, my friends have opted to also become my clients, and the many new clients I serve continually become my treasured friends. That feels like real success!
